dead celebs

instead of starting a new thread everytime someone famous dies, i vote for just posting on this thread.

lou rawls has passed.  what a great voice.
http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=211388&GT1=7653

when mr. jilly and i were choosing our wedding song, he once suggested "the one that starts with 'you'll never find...another love like mine' ".  i quickly convinced him that "you're gonna miss my lovin" probably isn't a such a great wedding song.

A friend of mine saw him at the Emerald Queen Casino a couple of years ago.  She said he had a fabulous voice and a very classy stage presence.

This is OT and maybe deserves its own thread, but who else has heard inappropriate songs used at weddings?  Someone I know had the Police's "Every Breath You Take."  Isn't that about an obsessed stalker? ??? Tongue

I don't know about wedding songs - but my friends funeral song yesterday was 'Heaven Is A Halfpipe' by OPM ... the priest was mightily unimpressed  Grin

Dana Reeve.  A year and a half after her husband Christopher passed away, Dana has lost her fight with lung cancer at 44.  Truly sad.

What makes this even sadder to me is their son. To him it must still seem so recent at losing his dad but then to lose his mother as well? Where is he going to go?

i agree that it's totally sad and tragic, but he's got a foundation that'll help take care of him. he's better off than a lot of kids who lose their parents
