I thought she was great in the movie East of Eden with James Dean, and of course, Member of the Wedding. Great movies.

Eleanor Jean Parker (June 26, 1922 – December 9, 2013) was an American actress who starred in some 80 movies and television series. An actor of notable versatility, she was called Woman of a Thousand Faces, the title of her biography by Doug McClelland.

Parker's best-known screen role came when she co-starred with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as Baroness Elsa Schraeder in the 1965 Oscar-winning musical The Sound Of Music.

Parker was nomination three times as Best Actress for the Academy Award.

Eleanor Parker has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6340 Hollywood Blvd.

(Although some have thought there may be a connection to the TV remake "S.o.M", that's not true.[me])

Eleanor Parker died from complications from pneumonia. Eleanor Parker was 91 years old at the time of her death.

I remember seeing "Sound of Music" in college.  When the Captain was about to tell the kids he was going to marry the baroness, someone yelled "Don't do it!".  Too funny.

Peter O'Toole, best known for "Lawrence of Arabia".  His entrance in that movie was possibly the most memorable introduction of an actor to audience in all of cinema.
