I know next to nothing about the WPS, but did you guys know that the USWNT is coming to Portland on Sept 22?

Sucks that it is a Thursday night (and a late 8pm start), but I may take a couple of days off from work and spend a long weekend w/ my sis in Portland.

Yes, I think starting Aug 17 Wed.
1st round: Wambach/Rapinoe (MagicJack) vs. Cheney (Boston Breakers)
winner of 1st round will take ARod, Kai (Philadelphia Independence), then winner will take
Alex Morgan, Marta, Sinclair (WNYFlash)

They'll be playing on Kansas City too on Sept 17.  Too bad I'm nowhere near those 2 areas, bummer...

Wow, it's apparently difficult to get tickets for Portland. That quaint little field (whose new name I can never get straight) is nearly soldout.

Forgot about the WPS Final bet. WNYFlash and Philadelphia Independence.
Oh well, just glad that the team I was rooting for won, woot, woot!

OT:  On a more serious note, though I think my area didn't suffer that much from Irene's wrath and I'm grateful, my thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this massive hurricane.

Seattleites buy more sunglasses per capita than any other city in the nation. Seattle was the first city in the US to play a Beatles song on the radio. A group of ravens/crows is called a murder. Here's to bilita mpash (blissful dreams).

you're welcome, gentree13  Smiley

sad news though, U.S. Defender Ali Krieger tears ACL and MCL in right knee

http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Womens-National-Team/2012/01/US-Defender-Krieger-Te...

ugh, this reminds me of the time when Lindsay Tarpley tore her ACL just prior to last year's World Cup and also of  Abby Wambach breaking her left leg right before the 2008 Olympics.  so unfortunate... Sad

eta:
thoughts and prayers for Ali's recovery and for the rest of the team to remain healthy and safe...
