Too bad Hope Solo, Rapinoe and A-Rod won't be available to start the season.

So the Portland Thorn's first game (in Kansas City) ended in a 1-1 tie thanks to a penalty kick. I, uh, hope the game this weekend has a little more scoring.

Oh no, it doesn't look like I'm going to be changing my mind about this sport very soon.

I guess I could bring a laptop to Sunday's opening match and get some work done and only pay attention when people start screaming.

We scored a goal. And there's only been on offsides call!

The Thorns won and set a NWSL attendance record (for the moment) of 16,479. There were so many people there that before the game a woman asked us who the Timbers were playing today.

Buy scarves immediately. The Thorns vastly underestimated the number of scarves that would sell on opening day. They were gone before half the people even got through the gates.

We season ticket holders are now on an online "priority" list and will get them as soon as the first batch arrives. Or maybe the second. They don't even know.

They aren't cheap either! I bought an entire Storm sweat coat for less money during their first season.

yes, did see her there Smiley

got my scarf--hey it's made in England, expected China! My favorite colors.

Fun game, even tho we lost! I like our goalie....

It feels like early in the season, like we're not used to playing with each other....looking forward to the next game, but won't be till the 16th!

They still make things in England? Maybe that's why ours are taking so long to arrive.

We need a no-flopping rule in soccer.

I'd also like a no-booing rule for every time a player happens to hit the turf (they fall down sometimes) but I don't see how that could be enforced.

woo hoo! The Seattle Reign finally won one!!

http://equalizersoccer.com/2013/06/26/megan-rapinoe-seattle-reign-fc-first-win-b...

it's a season that's remining me a lot of the first year (or 2) of the Storm -- a lot of heart, but not a whole lot of success!

Next home game Sat. (tomorrow) at 8 p.m. at Starfire -- I think I'll be able to make this one (dang work!) !!

p.s. Portland looks like they're doing great, scowl!
