Sounders just signed another USWNT member, Stephanie Cox.

I've been told that Seattle has a very competitive soccer community. Like if you want to play in the rec leagues, you're fine until you get to groups around 40 years of age, because there are all these retired professional soccer players in the leagues, and they'll kick your trash.

I wonder if all of these great signings on the women's side are any sort of reflection of that?

Meanwhile, I know that due to National Team committments that not all of these ladies will play every game, but it would be cool to see it. Any thoughts on which games they'll be missing? Nearest the Olympics?

I've played in Co-Rec and in NWCSL and I can tell you the latter is the more competitive.  If you want to just play for fun and exercise, you probably won't get killed in Co-Rec.

Good to know, should I ever want to pick up the sport. Wink

I forgot to post -- the USWNT was on ESPN2 in the wee hours of this morning in a friendly against Japan, in Japan...part of the lead-up to the Olympics.....I taped it and am watching it right now -- I think we play against Brazil in a couple days, also on ESPN2...

This is really fun to watch -- I miss the WPS!!

Sounds like the first exhibition for the Sounders women was a big success..

4000 fans!  They need to play some games at the C-link.
