Isn't Tweety also playing in the Russian national team? If so, she too would have similar contractual obligations as Ann Wauters, and probably more since Russia always qualifies for the olympics.

Cheers,

go back up and read michelle's explanation about tweety's contract with ummc, which may make her never want to return. honestly, if she hasn't by now, i doubt she ever will. if what michelle stated is accurate, why would tweety want to jeopardize a *big* paycheck for $100k payday for a season in the w?

I read michelle's post. That is why I posted mine. "isn't she ALSO playing for the Russian team?". I believe that is part of why she is getting that big paycheck from UMC.
Cheers,

I dont think she is in the selection of the russian team this year.
Its not why she gets a big paycheck (she earned that by her play in the wnba) but she has a russian passport and played for russian team so she doesnt count as a foreigh player for them (like Parker and Bird, only 2 allowed in euroleague)

And if i remember correctly Tulsa holds her rights and Nolan only wanted to play in Detroit. I dont expect her to come back
and tbh i wouldnt give up anything to Tulsa to get her.

Richy from Rebkell has made his own free agents list and his take on it on his website. He also explains all the rules about RFA/UFA/reserved etc.

You can read it here. He also writes about every team their options and needs. His view about the Storm will be posted on there as well.

However, the fact that Agler chose not to use his core designation on anyone has to be a sign of confidence. If there was less than a 100% chance in his mind that Sue Bird was going to stick around, he’d have used it on her. And once he was sure about Bird, he could easily have used it on Tanisha Wright instead – but didn’t. That almost certainly means that both will return, and it’s largely a matter of when, not if, they’ll sign

I notice that Izi is a UFA...should Brian try to bring her back to help at SF?  Her defense, speed and 3 point shooting could all be helpful to this team with Cash gone.

Just an ignorant but avid fan's random thoughts on the Storm.

Thank you Force 10, for keeping professional basketball here in Seattle.

Nah i wouldnt do that. Her defense is not that great(certainly not on the level of what Agler demands from his team) and she shot 21% from 3 last season and in 2010 she shot 29%. She is only a career 32% from behind the arc. So she isnt actually that good of a threepointshooter. She is a speedy chucker not really any other word for her.

I also wouldn't do Izi as much as I like her. She's a bit too erratic with her shot, and when Angel isn't hogging the ball and shooting, it's Izi, regardless if she is on or not. Kind of funny to watch the Dream - although they are have been successful. But I guess all teams tend to ride the shooter as long as they can.  (It will be interesting to watch them this year without the coaching talent of Carol Ross.)

I don't think it's a coincidence Agler and Bryant are over in Europe visiting Tanisha and Sue right around f.a. signing date.

If there was any doubt either one wouldn't sign with the Storm, I think Agler would've used the core designation.  Since he didn't, I think it's just a matter of waiting until Feb. 1 to make it official they're returning to Seattle.

I guess I'm on board as long as it doesn't result in Camille having to play SF.

If the Storm do luck out and get to draft Nneka Ogwumike it creates a log jam... but a good problem to have.

Yeah am not a fan of Little playing SF either. She and Wauters will be a great postduo!
