Looking forward to seeing Katie Ledecky demolish her competition in the pool.  She's the most dominant athlete in the world in any sport right now.

czechchick, I heard an interview with Jenny Thompson on the radio the other day, about life after the Olympics:

I watched Ledecky in the Trials... wow!

Thompson is one of my favorite swimmers.

Interesting they keep saying she was the "most decorated female swimmer".

She's actually tied with Dara Torres and Natalie Coughlin with 12 medals.

Ledecky is fast becoming the next Shirley Babashoff, who held American records in all free events.  She could end up being the next Shane Gould-holding all World records at one time.

Thanks for posting the link.  I had read she did the podcasts, but couldn't find any liink to them.

What happened in '76 and what Shirley Babashoff did have become more relevant than anyone associated with the movie "The Last Gold" ever thought they would be when they decided to make the movie and release it this year.  They did it because of the 40th anniversary of those Games, but what it's about is being played out again right now in these Olympics with the Russian doping scandal and the IOC failure to act decisively about it.

wow, US women soccer knocked out at the quarters by Sweden!

On penalty kicks, what a way to lose Sad

Australia lost to Brazil the same way...

I've decided, even with all the drama, I don't like penalty kicks.....

The sexist, racist coverage by the media of these Olympics has been appalling, led by NBC itself.  Too many examples of it to post here.
