Apparently CGR and SF7 both suck. And they both have plenty of pocket money. Who won?

The Comets were ineffective because they were ashamed of their coach. C'mon, Van--pink and lavender? Together?
 
We shot a paltry 38% in the first half. Which was OK! The Comets shot a pathetic 24%.
 
Anybody else see that pointy LJ elbow sink deep into T. Johnson's solar plexus early in the first under the north basket? Flagrant material. But to be fair, the league is still playing hack on Lauren in the hopes of her losing her 22 year-old temper. She got the worst of it tonight. Guess they didn't get the memo that's she's cool as a cucumber this year.
 
Speaking of LJ, oy. 'Sup with the shooting tonight? The rest of her game was working, but she was tight as Cristina Aguilera's jeans when she lined up to the basket. Every time she goes for the long ball I cringe. Dribble that ball, honey! Drive the lane!
 
Lisa Leslie isn't the only WNBA player to wear ribbons. I love Sheryl Swoopes because she never ever cooks a meal at home for her son and she never eats vegetables on purpose. Seems to be working for her.  
 
Michelle Snow has the wingspan of a 757. She doesn't quite have the wiles under the basket yet--LJ was frustrating the heck out of her tonight.
 
Way to go Amanda! On Sheryl Swoopes for most of the night, she stayed with her using her big heart.
 
My favorite thing in all of basketball, anywhere? Better than watching one son getting his first start for the JV or the other win the city 5th grade championship? Better than the fab 5, or no-look pass from Magic? Better than MJ getting big air? Better than Cousy's lefty dribble or L. Bird from downtown? LAUREN JACKSON REEEEJECTING THE BALL. Just plain monster blocks tonight. I'd rather watch that than eat Haagen Dasz.
 
I missed seeing jrod, but it was lovely seeing Mr and Mrs Admin sitting with wnbafanforever. I know famous people!
 
Didja see Sue smoking everyone on the dribble? Every time down the court? Sistah's knee is feeling better, I think.
 
In the last five the Comets were really really annoyed. Not resigned and accepting of the drubbing, but annoyed and frustrated, almost to the point of barking at each other.
 
Anybody else notice that teams coming into the Key are just looking terrible? It's been so consistent this year that I'm beginning to believe that it's not that teams are playing poorly, but that the Storm's making them look bad. Happy happy joy joy!!
 
Almost forgot two things. You want fries with that Big Mac? Our Nigerian princess was making stuff happen. I was soooooprised at her game. What she lacks in skill she makes up in enthusiasm. And quickness. Also, how 'bout LJ and Swoopes jawing at each other across the paint during that foul shot late in the game. Looked UGly.

WE'RE IN SECOND PLACE!!!! WE'RE IN SECOND PLACE!!!!

Storm domination throughout. Woo hoo! We haven't won against them since Aug. 8, 2001, so this kind of play was especially rewarding to see. The Comets did make a run early in the second. They came within 7 at one point later on, but it never got really close. This could have been totally enjoyable if it weren't for... the refs.  
 
Fricken dumbasses. We have been used to seeing normal to decent reffing for the last few games, so this was a harsh slap back into what is mostly reality in this league. To give you an idea of how lame it got, these are a few of the things I yelled at Dumb, Dumber and Dumber Yet tonight:
 
"You are a disgrace to the profession, you piece of crap!"
 
"You are Satan, ref!"
 
"How much did Houston pay you to make such a stupid call?"
 
You get the idea.
 
It was because of this that Lauren was crabby tonight. Please, for god sakes don't sweat it that she and Bird are hatin on each other. It's like eclair said and Lauren was frustrated as hell, Bird tried to help out, and when Lauren still didn't wanna be bothered, Bird rolled her eyes and gave up. It's just like getting pissy at a co-worker. No biggie, folks.
 
The hallmark of Lauren's frustration was when the ref blew a whistle again and she rolled her eyes and hucked the ball over her shoulder at him. Second most frustrating moment was her coming to the bench after another lame ass foul and slapping her teammate's hands while saying, "f*cking b*llshit." She'll be OK, y'all.
 
Very pleased to see our new player and what she brings to the game. Intensity, fiestiness and a good eye for where the ball is and is going to be.
 
Tully... ah, Tully. Damn I love that woman. You would think she was Donovan's height the way she shuts people down on D. I think her nickname should be Tully "the clamp" Bevilaqua.
 
A-Lass was phenomenal! Great boards, nice hustle - ooo, it was great to see her step on up.
 
Kamila, holy crap, woman - what a monster game! And what a sweet courtside interview at the end. She is such a nice woman, that Thrilla.
 
Was real nice to see Sue Bird hustlin like old times. She is supa dupa fast.
 
Wish Adia woulda been given some props, and Danielle more than 26 seconds of playing time. I was also not impressed with Michelle Snow's 'tude. But hey....
 
Did I mention we're in SECOND PLACE, baby??!!
