About Us

I think everyone pretty much covered the ugly facts in most of the gameday reports when the Storm lost to the Monarchs.  One thing I will not forget is how my eyes were opened to the force of Mrs. Admin who told a Monarchs fan to F-off after she was told to shut up... I was really starting to fear for my life at that time but I don't know who scared me more, the monarchs fans or Mrs. Admin

We had a great time being around the players, it was a surprise to be on the same flight heading towards the game. Leighway had on one of her Sue Bird Storm shirts and as we were standing in the security line she would hide so all the players would not see it, I just had to laugh.  David Locke was a few people in front of us and Elise was in line right behind us, David saw Leighways shirt and was like, "where are you going?"...Duh!

We really did not say anything to the players because we did not want to bother them even though they were all around us, it was so cool. You know Tully is A LOT taller than she looks on the floor.

We all met up at the Hotel and I must say we had a GREAT group of people.  Jezzie, SIC, Leighway, SF7, Shed, Mr. Admin., Mrs. Admin, Trinity and Vi you are all the best!  After every ditched me at one point, I was going downstairs and Lassiter blew by me in her uniform and socks and was heading upstairs, after that one of the trainers came over waiting for the elevator and I overhead him talking about how the players want ice in their Gatorade and how he didn't want to do it so he told AD where the ice machine was... Yea, ok..I was trying not to laugh so I had to turn away... Those darn Storm players are so demanding..

I think my favorite parts of the game was when AD followed the refs off the court after the game and continued to "talk" to them... She was pissed. You go gurl, you tell em'.

For everyone who could not make the trip you missed a good time. Even though the game was not something we want to remember I will never forget SF7, stopping for a drink AT EVERY CORNER, and playing cards on the airport floor, laughing so hard Mrs. Admin almost wet herself.  Ah, Good times...

We got to the airport around 5:50 am on Saturday morning. I was thinking that security should be a breeze since it was so early... think again. It was a pretty long line but it moved a little faster than I thought it would. You know how the security line is like a line for a ride at Disneyland? You tend to go back and forth several times and see the same people over and over again? Well... the people I kept seeing over and over again were the Storm players. I felt a little self conscious because I had my Sue Bird All Star shirt on from last year.  So, every time they went by I kind of turned a little to hide myself. I was the only Stormfan by the way that had a Storm shirt on so I stuck out like a sore thumb.

At one point David Locke was standing next to me and he looked at me then my shirt and asked me where we were going. I just rolled my eyes and said "guess"... he thought it might just be a coincidence.

On the plane most of the players slept, can't blame them for that. LJ and AD were about two rows ahead of us and I have to say for the record that LJ really should brush her hair before going out... early flight or not. The flight was really uneventful, unless you count my constant talking to avoid screaming in fear of crashing. Sorry Jezzie.

We got to the hotel and decided to have a little breakfast at their buffet unfortunately it was at the same time the coaching staff was eating... it was a pretty good breakfast and funny to count how many times the coaches made runs to the buffet... I feel so stalker like.

The day seem to go by so fast and before I knew it I was sitting in a seat in the Arco Gym... I'm not going to call it an Arena because I don't think you can really call it that. It is more of a glorified high school gym if you ask me.
The game... yadda, yadda, yadda... what can I say that has not been said? Oh, I can say that I liked our seats, sans the woman that kept yelling go Ruthie, even when she was not in there. She yelled Offensive Foul every time the Storm had the ball... just bringing it up the court mind you... she also told Mrs. Admin to shut up... nuff said there. The fans that sat around us were pretty cool... one tried to do anti-spirit fingers but there were three of us doing it and only her so I think we won out on that.  I did think the rest of the crowd was quite hostile... they cheered when Bird hit a screen that sent her to the ground. Not nice fans... at least at the Key we just go Ohhhhh... that had to hurt. Unless of course it's LL then we cheer. But then who wouldn't?
There was one woman that came down to talk to us; she said she was a friend of Quacy Barnes so we talked for a while. She said she liked the Storm but never liked Dunn. Sounds like a true Storm fan.

I personally think that the game was bad but shesh, four starters in double figures? No the passes and baskets were not great but the starters pretty much did their job and they ended the game shooting pretty well in the long run. Sac was not missing anything... it was just one of those nights where just about everything Sac threw up in the air fell in the basket... aiming or not. I think that the Storm defense could have been much better but that's how it goes.

It was interesting to see AD's reaction to the players; I've personally never seen her this mad before... not even at the Washington game where she benched all the starters... this time she made every player she took out of the game sit in the second or third seat and most of them looked beat down when they sat there. The only player that missed out on this was Bird because she played the whole 40 min. I figured she begged to stay in the game just to avoid that "talking" to time. I'm sure she got an earful during the time outs.

Oh and not that it's a big surprise but the refs were pretty damn bad. However; I'm not going to blame this one on them or on Trinity... I tried to blame her but after a while I had to give in and admit that even her bad luck had nothing to do with this loss. (I'm sure it didn't help though.) It was pretty wild to see AD going after the refs when the game was over. She gave them a mouthful and then some.

After the game we went back to our hotel and had a bite to eat with Kamila; who is always so nice and willing to hang out with a bunch of nutty fans. Other players opted to go elsewhere to relax.

A few of us closed the place down and had a good time talking ball among other things. A good time was had by all.
