Did you ever in your whole life think, "Getting past the sparks is the easy part of this week. I'm worried about Minnesota"? Me neither.

After seven minutes, LJ had 14 points. That's a basket a minute! If she was really so great, she would have had 80 for the game, right? I was feeling a little stressed in the first half--Lauren had almost all the points, and hardly anyone else had scored. My concern was that it reflected lack of balance or something. I changed my mind. This was all in the grand Donovan scheme: Showcase LJ during her MVP bid while rubbing Cooper's nose in Stormie star talent. Each play was designed precisely to go to her.

LJ, BTW was 17 for 17 within 5 feet of the hole. When's she going to give up the long ball?

LJ doesn't generally like to put the ball on the floor, but at one point with Mowe in front of her, she just couldn't help herself. Dribble-drove to the basket and popped it in. Mowe looked like she was standing still.

And speaking of Mowe, *ahem* does Michael Cooper have some sort of fetish for cast-off big slow girls? There was a merry-go-round of sparky avoir du pois down low all night long.

Tully played like a 6-footer tonight. She had one heck of a block, and then backed it up with a board at the other end. The flagrant went this way: Tully on the break, Shaq Williams whacked her into the stands to keep her from scoring. Punk ass duck.

Cooper certainly earned a second T--I don't know why the refs didn't throw another one down. He wins the prize for the whiniest spark of all, with Rhonda Mapp a close second.

Storm fans are bad-mouthed on other boards for blaming everything that goes wrong on the refs. I'm here to tell you that everything went right tonight, 92 to 56 (teehee) right, and the refs still stink. It was the stench of brimstone and evil, the stench of SATAN!!! So there.

Here's who I missed meeting: GoShorty and Trin. Poopie.

Here's who I didn't miss: New Socks and StormFaninCometsLand. Yay! Sockie gave me an official LL weave to wave. When I got back to my seat, someone asked me if it was Simone's hair. They were serious.

And speaking of Simone and her sartorial splendor, the long braids are gone. She has rows tight to her head with lovely, flowing locks just brushing her shoulders. Oy, that skinny lil' kiddo sure can push those big ol' girls around. She had some amazing rebounds today--her postitioning was impeccable.

Just before the tip when the two teams' captains meet with the little kids, one of the kids had Teasley autograph her card along with Sue and Lauren. It was in poor taste. Teasley offered a five to Lauren as they left the floor. Lauren obliged, but she and Sue were smirking about it on their way off the floor. It was catty. I liked it.

For the Sue folks: I paid attention! Double/double. And McCrimmon on Bird? Nicky should have relaxed on the bench with a refreshing Gatorade. She would have been about as effective.

I don't know how may points the bench scored tonight, but I know they were working. The girls got the job done. Kamila seemed a little out-of-synch in the first half, but got it worked out after halftime. Rita had moments of brilliance.

I can't even describe how Cooper's face looked when Sun put in that exclamation point at the very end of the game. I wouldn't mind seeing his face look like that more often.

It was one of those nights. Every time the sparks started looking cocky, when they tried to throw down some cocky nasty move, they got picked, rejected, or they just plain missed. It was GLORIOUS!!!

Good News? Lots and lots of attendees! Bad News? Intolerable lines at the Ladies Room.

Um, have I ever mentioned that we have the best dressed coaching staff in the league? Jessie Kenlaw has a wardrobe, and she knows how to use it!

I had a tough day, and being able to scream for joy felt reallyreally good. I just love those girls. Good basketball conquers all. Wait...that's not right... Feels that way anyway!

Hell, we haven't had this much fun at a game since we kicked San Antonio's asses by 40 points a couplea months ago. Woo hoo! Let's start with our fine esteemed company from out of town. We got New Socks on our left, Storm Fan in Comets Land to our backs, goshorty across the Key, and Trinity and husband up high in 113. Par-tay!

Lauren was in flames, just a forest fire gone wild. All those points in the first seven minutes. I then remember looking up at the clock at 8:07 to go in the first half and she'd just hit 22 points. Shocking. We were wondering when it was gonna stop.

Donovan started out the season so calm. Now she has a ref twitch. Literally, her shoulders twitch with her neck when they make a crap ass call. She glares and takes off her jacket and throws it at someone. The funniest thing she did, to me, was when she just held out her hand, gesturing toward the refs and looking at one of her assistant coaches like, "see?!" for about 20 seconds. You can see her restraining herself when what she'd really like to do is walk out there and slap down a ref or two.

Tully is fine, of course. We saw her and some old friends partying at a nearby restaurant.

Goshorty is quite a dancer! We were watchin her get her groove thang on in the closing minutes, and it was quite somethin. Go shor-tay! It's not your birthday for about five more months though....

New Socks' weaves were SUCH the hit. Soft like doll hair and oh so popular. The women behind us got one right on the spot because they were admiring ours. SO pretty.

Kamila didn't start the second half. She looked kinda off in the first and was green after halftime. I hope she is OK. Tamecka Dixon also looked tired, but in that case, I couldn't care less.

Love the new Simone do! And I swear she did a shimmy while making a vertical pass! Jezzie saw it too. Hell, Simone likely shimmies in her sleep.

Lauren Jackson better get MVP. There is no one better in this league right now.
