OH
MY GOD!!! Here's a little quiz: Lauren
Jackson is:
A) A monster on the court.
B) A beast on the court.
C) A stud.
D) The best women's basketball player in the world.
E) All of the above.
Answer: E) All of the above.
If you answered E, move to the head of the class with the rest of us. If
you answered any of the other, move to the middle of the class. And, if
you failed to answer, you're stuck with the dunce cap.
This young woman has served notice, she IS the best player in the world. LL
who? I've seen alot of great players and alot of big games, by those great
players--this is perhaps the greatest game by a player, that I've ever had the
privilege of witnessing. Again, I'll say it--Lisa Who?
With 10:37 left in the first half, my mom looked up at the scoreboard and had
to do a double-take, Lauren had 20 points. Lauren simply put her name at
the head of the MVP list.
Lotsa love for our little "bulldog" Tully. She is definitely
one tough cookie. I thought LJ was going go down to see if Tully was alright,
LJ jumped out of her seat and you could see the anger on her face.
So sCooper, Lisa's gonna play and we're in trouble, huh? Don't you know
that you don't get to heaven by telling lies. You earned that T and should
have had a second one.
A little tidbit for all you fans, there was an official from the league at the
game tonight and if I'm not mistaken, it was the head of the officials. Michael
sCooper might be hearing it from the league tomorrow.
Now I know that everybody in LA will be making the excuse that *whiny voice*
Yeah but our two best players were at home injured. *end whiny voice* Grow
up, one of our best players is sitting on the bench and Sue's knee has been a
problem all season. Personally, I don't think having the nag and her exercise
rider would have helped the Sporks. They were simply out-played and out-classed. And
face it, Lauren has just been in a zone lately and the nag couldn't have stopped
her.
I am so impressed with LJ and this entire team. Next test, Minnesota. Can
we beat them? Yep. Now is the time to make the same kind of run that
Charlotte made, under Anne Donovan.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I do not believe that LL only
has a "deep" bruise. She's been out nearly a month. The
Sporks lost 3 in a row, now 4. If she is not playing, in their next game,
the injury is much more serious than reported. This nonsense of "resting
her until the playoffs" is just that, nonsense. I have 3 reasons for
saying this.
1. If the Sporks aren't careful, they won't be in first place, and maybe
not even second.
2. If LL doesn't return until the playoffs, she's not going to be in game
condition.
3. Rust. Her shot won't be as sharp and her defense won't be there,
either.
I'll end the way I started, OH MY GOD!!!

It
was a great win but I still wish LL had been there because
it would have been so much better.
But hey, they won which is all that matters. I thought
Sue Bird did an awesome job with getting the ball into
LJ every chance she got. As one article in the Seattle
Times put it; she never even looked at LJ it just wound
up in her hands and then in the basket. Much better
than the Ticha no look, I'm looking right at you, pass.
Kamila
did seem very out of sorts in the first half and then
the fact she did not start in the second half made my
heart
drop. She did get back in there so
I hope everything is okay.
My
girl Lassi did her job last night and had a good game.
If we could just get her offensively minded too
she would be a great threat.
I
thought everyone had a so so first half but they all
stepped up in the second
and I was very glad of
that.
Because I'm at work I did not have a chance to read everyone's report so I
hope I'm not doubling up but oh well if I am.
During
a time out they showed a tape of the players answering
the question: "If
you played a game of H O R S E with coach AD who would win you are her?" Well,
everyone said they would win except for LJ; she said AD would win. Adia's
was pretty funny because she said she would win but if they were to play
one on one
she would get every shot blocked by AD. Then AD answered the question
and said she would win of course. It was
very cute and for those who cannot be at the Key for games I wish they
would put these on the Storm site.
It was interesting how LA took the home side of the court but the Storm did
not seem aware of this. Since I sit next to where the players come out
I saw them
in their huddle then they were waiting for the intro when Sue looked
out and saw them on their side doing their shot around. Sue went back
and told the rest of the team, which prompted Rita Williams to say, "What
the hell is up with that?" and look out at the LA team herself. At
that Sue gathered everyone up again and I don't know what she said but
they were all smiles
as they ran out to the court. They also had some very different warm
ups I have never seen them do before.
I
have high hopes for the Minn game but they do scare me
worse than any other team in the league this year… except
Sac in Sac… the
Storm just seems to have a mental block when it comes to playing them.
I think they can move past
that block and take it at home. I know we will do our part in helping
them out.

Coach
Pooper is a lil freak during Storm player intros. As
best as I could describe his demeanor
would be a life sized devil bobblehead doll with eyes that
move back and forth like a cat clock. Scary. Very Scary.
The
game was freakin' awesome! LJ scoring non stop. Got.
To. Love. It.
When
LJ hit 34 david locke jumped up from his seat and pumped
his fist. I would love to know
what he said.
He sure was ecstatic.
Goshorty
was in the house? How come I didn't know this? Will you
be at the Lynx
game?
Doppler
made some lil kid fall and she was crying really bad.
Storm staffers swooped around her. I sense
free storm stuff in her future. « Page
