Frustrating, disheartening, maddening, exciting,"LJ - you are an amazon," we might do it, OMG - don't leave Nicole out there by her-r-r-s-s-e-l-f - SH!T, energy girls, energy, Ticha did that - Not Betty.

Sound familiar to you? All feelings or thoughts I had during this game. A lot has been said already on this board. Most notably to me - the bench isn't there - it doesn't come close to supporting the starters - but how would we know anyway - they get yanked before they get in a rhythm. Fear definitely sets in for me when LJ goes to the bench, but equally I'm scared to death when I don't see LJ getting any rest. When she went down hard on her shoulder, elbow, arm - I had a terrifying thought. LJ has tried to go around a defender and hit the floor hard the last two games (probably more, but hitting the deck SOUNDly directly in from of me against SAN and SAC definitely makes an impact), and last night because of the angle all I thought of was OMG she could dislocate a shoulder. Sheer fear and shudders. She wants to win so badly (they all do), and puts the whole effort on her shoulders that she is going to do whatever she has to do to get that basket, or that foul, or that win.

The last part of this season has become demoralizing - you see it in the players faces, as they leave it out on the floor only to come up short (and to the fans as well). I don't know how LJ does it night in and night out. We may have had her healthy this year, and 10/20 lbs lighter, and the spring in her step back, and the tremendous love of the game, but by the end of this season, she's going to be carried out on a stretcher. WITH THE MVP TROPHY SITTING ON TOP OF HER CHEST!

Maybe the off season in Russia with Sue, Diana, and Tina will revive her again.

The Storm players and coaching staff each need to write a personal letter of apology to Lauren Jackson. Last night was ridiculous. Yes, there were flashes of actual team work and plays that worked. For awhile there, I actually got excited. Then the switch got flipped off and the teamwork packed up and left. Goodbye dominating Storm team. Hello 4 players and Superhuman Lauren Jackson.

Gym Rat's Droppings

David Locke was in the house with his family. I'd hate to sit next to him at a game though. He'd talk about something that happened to him on his travels to the game the entire time and you'd never know what the score was.

I cringed when that referee lady got kicked. First I thought she got it in the hootenanny, but the replay showed that she got a sharp kick in the gut. Either way - that had to hurt! Props to her for the recovery.

I very much like Coach Boo's coaching style - always cheering her team on and being enthusiastic - I very much wonder if the more talkative coaches produce the better teams (Monarchs, Shock, Sun...).

Dear Burse, I like you very much but please, OH PLEASE, stop with the stupid fouls. Everyone had your back when you got the foul on the rebound underneath the bucket - but the refs were right. If you would stay 90 degrees with the floor, you wouldn't get called for that crap.

LJ got her ass kicked last night and still came out fighting. She truly is amazing.

WTH happened to Bird? Really. I remember when she carried this team and refused to let them lose. Is she just going through the motions now? Someone kill her passion? I see none of that now. Makes me sad.
