Our Mission

The Stormfans.org community is one of the most active and enthusiastic groups in the WNBA. The new ownership group, Force 10 Hoops, has stated that part of their decision to pursue buying the Storm organization was due to the level of support we Storm fans have shown to the team.

Now that the Storm organization is going to be split off from the Sonics and will eventually need to stand on its own, the success of the team is in our hands more than ever. It's time for us to join together and do whatever it takes to ensure that the Storm not only stays in Seattle, but continues to be a success into the future.

I take the success of this franchise personally and I hope all of you do as well. It may be Force 10 Hoop's name on the bottom line, but the Storm is our team and it's our responsibility to step up and do what we can.

Towards that end, Stormfans.org is beginning an annual donation drive so that we, as a group, can purchase a block of season tickets that will be donated to local kids' groups.

Our Goal

$3600, or 20 $180 season tickets.

How it Works

Starting February 12th and ending April 25th, you can email Katie Dahl or call her at 206-272-2746 at the Storm front office with your donation. Katie will take your donation, arrange for corporate matching if your employer offers that benefit and send you a tax deduction statement for your records.

All donations will be handled through the Sonics and Storm Foundation, a non-profit organization. The Foundation will also take care of distributing the tickets to area kids' groups.

You can donate as much or as little as you like — a full seat for $180 or $10 if that's what you can afford. Every little bit will help.

The Fun Part

Well, fun for you. As an incentive, beyond helping the team succeed, whoever donates the most money (including their corporate matching) gets to pick what color my hair will be for opening night. Yes, I'm stealing from jilly here, but if you want to see my hair red, magenta or green all you have to do is donate the most money.

I will be keeping a Seat Meter on the home page tracking our overall progress. I will also post the high donation amount (donor identity will be kept private until we have a winner) so you can gauge if you want to try and beat that for the honor of picking my hair color.

Some Tidbits

Our timeframe has to end in late April so that the Foundation can have time to arrange for groups for the preseason and early season games.

Stormfans.org will not be accepting, processing or distributing any money or game tickets.
